Happy Quilting

Have you all visited Melissa at Happy Quilting Melissa? you probably have, she is just prolific and has amazing talent!

She has graciously donated two quilts to Phoenix Quilts...the first quilt (above) is from Melissa's pattern that she made for a Sew Mama Sew tutorial, "Game Time Picnic Tutorial".  Even though her kids loved the quilt for checkers, they decided that donating it was far more important (such good kids!)!  Here is a link to her blog post about this quilt.

The second quilt is made up of blocks from what looks like an amazing and talented bee group, Melissa decided they would be perfect for a little boy who had lost his favorite blanket!  But truth be told, I think anyone would love this blankets sweetness!

Here is what Melissa said about donating to Phoenix Quilts:

"I donated to Phoenix Quilts because I know the devastation these fires create.  I grew up in Utah and now live in southern Utah.  I have seen these wildfires rage across the dry landscape and burn and destroy along the way.  I can not imagine the sorrow and hardship a family must go through to start all over.  I just hope that the little quilts help to bring some hope and the start of a new day."

Well said Melissa, well said!

In addition to Melissa's gorgeous quilts, her Mother-in-Law also donated 6 quilts!  So much goodness!  Thanks to both of you for your donation!
